School Readiness Program

The Social Skills Group aims to help children prepare for school in a structured setting with the support of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Speech Pathologists. In this group, your child will have the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills required for participation in school activities and develop the social skills needed for positive friendships.
Starting December 18 at 11am – December 22

What Skills will be addressed?
Following group directions
Responding in group
Sharing
Improving listening skills, concentration and attention
Learning how to be a good friend
Problem solving in social situations and conflict resolution
Transitioning to and from activities
Recognising and managing emotions and appropriate emotional responses in social situations
Turn-taking
Learning to understand what is expected and unexpected in social settings
Understanding and interpreting emotions and thoughts of their peers in play and conversations
Who is the group suitable for?
This group is suitable for children beginning Kindergarten in 2018
Who runs the group?
One of our highly qualified occupational therapists, psychologists or speech therapists
Do Parents need to attend?
Parents will need to drop of their child and return to pick them up
How do I enrol?
Existing clients can begin immediately, new clients will need to be assessed to ensure suitability
